The journal Science of the Total Environment study, published in, looked at plastic rubble on the bottom of the sea off UK seaboard  over a 25-year season. It arrange the results of 39 independent boat surveys that seine for plastic between 1992 and 2017.

Bottles Bags, and fishing related rubbish were commonly realized across all areas.

There was no powerful trend over time in the percentage of savior trawls that contained any plastic litter or in the total plastic litter items create across the long-term data sets.
