Fashion

Fashion

Continuously a lady of the hour, never a spouse. Continuously a fantasy; never a reality! The quintessential Bengali dame is not any more here, yet her unmistakable picture is so profoundly impregnated in our brains and creative abilities, we flop again and again to shrug away and separate with that sentimental idea, which may simply be a mark and nothing more.

The looker is a resemblance of the goddess to sentimental people; a scholarly or visual symbolism gave over a great many generations of journalists, authors, painters and artists, also the roadside Romeos! Circumstances are different, yet the look of a quintessential young lady is precisely the same taant, alta, churi, feeta…

Ages have gone since a young lady from the city has meandered around fields so immense that it meets the sky at the skyline. From the stories heard on a blustery day, she envisions the organization of a duckling, Hashu, close to seven days old. Her feet colored with alta, the tint in the brightest shade of red that guarantees flourishing, and disregards away all cynicism and pessimism — an appalling reality of our urban presence.

She has a payel wrapped around the webbed feet; a token of affection Nitu's granny had put around her modest feet the very day she was conceived, 10 years prior!
